Focus Photography is a family business based in Shafton, just outside Barnsley. I run it with my daughter Lisa, and between us we cover weddings right across South Yorkshire.
After 25 years of shooting here, there aren’t many venues I haven’t worked at. I know where the light is best, where to go when it rains, and how long the group photos really take. That means less time standing around and more time with your guests.
My style is relaxed and natural. Most of your photos will be candid moments as they happen. We’ll get the family photos done quickly, grab some lovely couple portraits, and then I’ll get out of your way so you can enjoy the day.

Fun on the day, great photos after
Guests often tell me how much fun the day was. I want you relaxed, because relaxed people make the best photos.
In the evening I show a same-day slideshow of the day so far, which always goes down well. Later on there’s my award-winning twilight shoot, where some of the best photos of the day come from. It’s included in all my two-photographer collections. In summer it depends on it getting dark before your coverage ends, so I’ll check your timings with you when you book.
Afterwards, you’ll choose your album photos and come to my viewing room in Shafton to see your design before it’s printed.

Which areas of South Yorkshire do you cover?
All of it. I’m based in Shafton, Barnsley, and photograph weddings across Barnsley, Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster. I also cover Wakefield, the rest of Yorkshire and the edge of the Peak District.
How much does a wedding photographer in South Yorkshire cost?
My collections start at £895 and go up to £2,995 for the Ultimate, which includes photography and video. A £500 deposit secures your date. You can see everything that’s included on my collections page.
Have you photographed at our venue before?
There’s a good chance I have. I’ve worked at most of the main venues in South Yorkshire, and you can see many of them on my venues page. If yours isn’t there, just ask.
Do you bring a second photographer?
Yes, on the Signature and Ultimate collections. A second photographer means we can cover both sets of preparations and catch guest reactions during the ceremony.
Can we meet you before we book?
Of course. Come and see me in my viewing room in Shafton, where you can look through real albums and ask anything you like. Book a time here.
When will we see our photos?
On the night. I show a same-day slideshow during the evening, and your online gallery goes live at the same time.
