Cubley Hall sits just outside Penistone, with four acres of gardens and woodland and views out over the moors. It’s relaxed, full of character and a brilliant place for a wedding that turns into a proper party.

The Perfect Surrounding

Cubley Hall started life as a moorland farm on the old packhorse routes in the 1700s, and later became a Victorian gentleman’s residence. Today it’s a hotel, pub and wedding venue on Mortimer Road, with 12 bedrooms for you and your guests.

You can get married in the Barn or the Garden Pavilion. The Barn has exposed stone walls, timber beams and plenty of room, with space for up to 110 for the wedding breakfast and up to 250 in the evening.

For photos there’s a lot to work with. The woodland paths and gardens are lovely for couple portraits, the stone and warm lighting inside look great, and the bandstand really comes into its own after dark. At the winter wedding in the gallery below, we finished the night with a twilight shoot at the lit bandstand and a bit of steel wool.
